Hi! My name is Robin and I have been running practically my entire life. I ran my first race when I was 5 and I have been running ever since. Over the years I have competed at many levels in many different events from the 400 on the track at the Junior Olympics to currently training for my 7th marathon. I just finished the Boston Marathon for the second time in April and begin training for Chicago Marathon in just a few weeks. I looking forward to helping you achieve your goals no matter what they are. Running is just not a sport, but a lifestyle and I hope I can teach you to love and embrace running just as I have. Happy Running!

About Matt

Seaside was Matthew’s first half marathon and he is honored to be serving as a pacer. He has added a few races to his running resume since then .... bringing the total to 24 marathons and 48 half marathons. Stick with him for even pacing. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to him here.

Hi there! My name is Bethanie and I started running around 2010 thinking I would never be able to complete a mile. In 2011, I ran my first 5k and that sealed it, I was hooked! Since then, I’ve lost count of the number of 5ks and 10ks I’ve ran. I have somewhere around 18 half marathons under my belt and I am currently training for my 10th marathon. I've ran this race several times with last year being my first experience pacing it. I truly enjoyed that experience and this year I get the added bonus of pacing you guys with my buddy Robin, the two of us have trained for three marathons together and we have a fun vibe. I'm sure we will be able to entertain you while keeping you on track. I look forward to meeting you all and helping you reach your goal, I’ll be there each step of the way!!! Happy training! You got this!!!

2:10 pace

Hey there! I’m Erica and I’m stoked to be pacing the 2:10 team! I’ve been running half marathons since 2012 and while I enjoy a long, slow run with friends, a good speed session is also my jam. When I’m not running you can find me teaching middle school science and group fitness classes, doing some personal training, coaching runners, or hanging with my two kids- preferably on the beach. Speaking of beach, I can’t wait to help you crush your goals as you run along the beach at the Seaside Half Marathon!!! Expect a mostly even pace with very slightly negative splits for a strong finish. You got this!

2:45 pace

I spent my life gaining and losing the same 50-70 lbs. I started running 3 years ago at the age of 46 after I lost 20 lbs by eating a plant based diet as a means to be active. I was inspired by Lori Ditzel, a high school friend, and her facebook post about running. I knew she was a runner since high school but it was something that I always was interested in. I started just walking around my town and then was encouraged by a neighbor to do a local 8k. That was hard but I was persistent with the running and attending bootcamp and continued to eat plant based. By the end of my first year, I was able to run 6 miles. And then I was encouraged by another friend to do a half marathon. I thought that was crazy but I trained and was able to do it, it was not easy and I actually bonked half way. And then I thought I would never do it again but then Lori encouraged me to do the Seaside Half. I took her up on it and it was much better for me. During this race, I learned about pacers at the start line so I followed one and she encouraged me for the entire run and I actually PR from my first half marathon. I felt more encouraged with myself and signed up for many more half marathons in my 2nd year of running. In my 3rd year of running I accomplished my first marathon in Philadelphia and Leadville Colorado Heavy Half. I am not fast. My motto is #slowbutgo. And with my persistent running, bootcamp and eating a plant based diet, I was able to lost 65lbs and keep it off. I hope to encourage others to run and eat healthy.
