Meet Our Pacing Team

Below is our 2018 pacing team! These experienced runners are available to help you reach your half marathon goal.

Peter

1:35 pace

Hello, I'm Peter! I'm married, and the father of two great kids. I've been a 'runner' for as long as I can remember, and now that I've entered the Masters category, I'd like to think that I'm in it for the long haul! I shifted focus to long distance running around 2009 and have completed ~15 marathons and MANY more half marathons since then. The ORC Seaside Half is one of my favorite local half marathons and for this reason I'm very excited to participate as the pacer for the 1:50 group.

Like you, I too will approach this adventure with my best foot forward, an open mind, and a steady focus to accomplish our goal. My pacing strategy will be to run even splits after a slightly slower start on mile one. You got this...and I'm going to be with you every step of the way.

Bob

Hello, I'm Bob! I'm married, and a father of three boys. As a former touring tennis professional and coach, fitness has always been a way of life for me. Over these past 18 years I’ve run 32 marathons with my best times occurring over the last 6 years. I run five of them under three hours; Chicago, Philly, NYC, Wineglass, and a PB at Boston in 2:55. I have no idea of how many half marathons I’ve run but I got stuck at 1:22 on three occasions. Currently, most of my running is spent coaching runners in my area, including my 11 year old son who loves to run!

I am very excited about pacing the Seaside Half this year. I’ve been a pacer of the NJ Marathon and Long Branch Half Marathon for many years. I talk a lot when I run, so I hope I don’t bother you. Most of what I talk about has to do with staying focused, reminding you why you trained your butt off for this, and how I’m going to help you meet your goal! My pacing strategy will be to run even splits after a slightly slower start on mile one. LET’S GET IT DONE! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me at bsullivan161@yahoo.com! Good luck with your training!

About Matt

Hello Everyone. I started my running career with this race in 2013. Since then I have ran 7 marathons, 18 half marathons, and a handful of triathlons. I'm looking forward to returning to Seaside as a Pacer. Like many, I started running to lose weight and quickly became addicted. In the beginning I was all about PR's but now I enjoy pacing to help others achieve their goals. I talk a lot and try to keep you entertained but feel free to save your energy and not talk too much :) My favorite post race food is pancakes and I look forward to hearing what yours is (food talk usually starts around mile 8). Stick with me and you'll hit your goal time. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me here.

Bunny

2:00 pace

Hi runners! My name is Bunny and I am excited to pace this group! I have completed 10 marathons but have lost track of the number of half marathons. I have also completed my first Ultra in Philly last year! I live in Lavallette with my husband Weezer and 6 year old son Ethan, so I am very familiar with this course. Whether this is your first race or you are looking for a personal best, I am looking forward to helping you achieve your racing goal. Happy training and happy running!

Robin

2:05 pace

Hi! My name is Robin and I have been running practically my entire life. I ran my first race when I was 5 and I have been running ever since. Over the years I have competed at many levels in many different events from the 400 on the track at the Junior Olympics to currently training for my 7th marathon. I just finished the Boston Marathon for the second time in April and begin training for Chicago Marathon in just a few weeks. I looking forward to helping you achieve your goals no matter what they are. Running is just not a sport, but a lifestyle and I hope I can teach you to love and embrace running just as I have. Happy Running!

Bethanie

2:05 pace

Hi there! My name is Bethanie and I started running around 2010 thinking I would never be able to complete a mile. In 2011, I ran my first 5k and that sealed it, I was hooked! Since then, I’ve lost count of the number of 5ks and 10ks I’ve ran. I have somewhere around 18 half marathons under my belt and I am currently training for my 10th marathon. I've ran this race several times with last year being my first experience pacing it. I truly enjoyed that experience and this year I get the added bonus of pacing you guys with my buddy Robin, the two of us have trained for three marathons together and we have a fun vibe. I'm sure we will be able to entertain you while keeping you on track. I look forward to meeting you all and helping you reach your goal, I’ll be there each step of the way!!! Happy training! You got this!!!
